WindSurf- Smart energy for the 21st century

Traditional wind turbines excel in steady air, prompting remote placement for consistent wind. AutarkE notes customers’ desire for proximity to light industrial operations but cautions against it due to inefficiency in handling the swirling, variable wind at such sites. This project introduces WindSurf, a radical re-design of a vertical axis wind turbine for efficient urban operation. Its patented control tech enables self-starting in winds as low as 3m/s. Seeking funding for a 16.4kW prototype, design certification, production facility establishment, and commercial launch.
