MARLIN STAR Community Access to Stored and Transferrable Energy from Floating Renewables
Stage: Round 7
The MARLIN STAR project advances the development and commercialization of a groundbreaking innovation, providing coastal communities with access to stored and transferable energy from floating renewables. Aligned with UN Global Goal #7 for Affordable and Clean Energy, the project revolutionizes traditional construction methods for large floating platforms. The MARLIN underwater construction system utilizes patent-protected buoyancy and orientation control, enabling the assembly of structures at the point of use. These modular structures can be easily transported in standard shipping containers, reducing costs, and facilitating mass manufacturing. The project assesses market and social conditions for implementing floating offshore wind energy in Bangladesh and India, aiming to improve energy access and quality of life in deprived areas.
