DUCKDUCK LTD
Creating virtual demand response assets using predictive modelling, with special application to Thailand
Stage: Round 4
DuckDuck and the Energy Research Institute at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand collaborate with I-ON (South Korea) to explore the synergies between Demand Response and distributed solar power for enhancing solar production. In Demand Response programs, electricity users, including factories, offices, and households, receive compensation for temporarily reducing their demand during grid strain. Solar power’s intermittency can be balanced by aggregated Demand Response. The consortium employs predictive algorithms to aggregate diverse electrical loads into more predictable ones, facilitating their participation in demand response. These approaches will be evaluated through trials testing various demand response schemes.
