Engaging Household Energy Savings and Demand Response Opportunities

This project addresses the widespread deployment of smart meters globally, particularly in developing countries combatting electricity theft. With smart meter data accessible online, the initiative aims to explore the technical feasibility of an innovative online display. This display would provide real-time comparative feedback on consumption, offering insights into how households compare to similar ones historically, potentially yielding up to 6% savings. Additionally, the project will assess a direct Demand Side Response (DSR) engagement and real-time peak reduction comparative feedback feature, encouraging households to reduce demand when needed. The application of these concepts in real-time aims to cut electricity bills, enhance network stability, and support renewable connections, marking a pioneering effort in this context.
