Achelous Energy Limited has created a power plant with its ‘Floating Instream Tidal and Solar (FITS)’ technology, creating clean electricity from water and solar energy. The technology has now been demonstrated at full-scale and a pilot project is underway to facilitate a FITS-supplied mini-grid to a rural community in Nepal.

FITS technology is also viable for use in Cambodia given its extensive rivers as the country needs more electricity as its economy grows. This project will also assess whether Achelous Energy’s FITS platform can be used for a pilot project in an island village along the Mekong River. The electricity provided will be used for both domestic use during the day and irrigation overnight.
