Stage: Round 10

Pakistan’s rural communities play a crucial role in farming and producing cotton for the world. The Affordable Clean Energy Farm is an innovative initiative that channels investments from fashion brands, textile manufacturers, and clean cotton networks to mitigate their carbon footprint.

This ongoing project aims to leverage support from Energy Catalyst to establish a sustainable economic model, providing clean energy access to 10 million cotton workers in Pakistan. The focus is on generating a positive ripple effect through various services, such as household energy access, sustainable energy practices on cotton farms, and empowering micro-enterprises to offer energy services and create new markets. As part of this, Pilio is developing a technology platform to measure the impact on carbon reduction, affordable energy adoption, and return on investment. This project will work closely with WWF Pakistan and Better Cotton.
