Big Solar Limited (BSL) addresses the energy gap for over 1.2 billion people lacking electricity, especially in off-grid rural areas like India, SE Asia, and Africa. Their innovation, Power Roll, is a groundbreaking, ultra-lightweight, and low-cost solar PV product designed to overcome adoption barriers. With a unique technology, Power Roll enables consumers to generate renewable energy at a cost lower than carbon-based options and significantly more affordable than other PV technologies. BSL has proven the concept’s feasibility and is now focusing on applications tailored for rural off-grid communities in India and SE Asia, collaborating with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) on this transformative project.
