Synaptec
YETIS Yes to Energy Through Innovative Sensing
Stage: Round 6
This project will address the problem of poor reliability of electricity supply in developing countries, focussing on a representative test case, Nepal. Leveraging cutting-edge distributed instrumentation and control technology from UK start-up Synaptec, it aims to enhance power grid efficiency and increase supply availability for large populations. The consortium will develop key elements of Synaptec’s technology with an innovative approach that offers cost-effective visibility into the power grid, enabling targeted and automated responses for efficiency gains in energy transport and intermittent generation connection. The technology’s implementation will impact NEA’s operations, facilitate product development and market access for Synaptec and ITL, and contribute to knowledge dissemination by RTOs. Keywords: distributed sensing & control; power grid management; smart grids.
