Computational Modelling Cambridge
Bio-GaTe - Advanced Biomass Gasification Technologies
Stage: Round 3
Computational Modelling Cambridge is testing a sustainable, low-emission energy alternative that meets global energy demands is crucial for global security as conventional fossil fuels deplete in the future. Despite its sustainability and carbon neutrality, the key constraint in the wider adoption of biomass gasification is its inefficient processes in handling diverse feedstocks, leading to poor gasifier performance.
The project aims to use physics-based virtual engineering for the cost-effective development of advanced biomass gasification technologies (Bio-GaTe) that convert biomass feedstocks and wastes to alternative energy and high-purity synthesis gas. Aligning with government policies, the project also supports a low-carbon economy, decarbonizing energy generation with renewables for enhanced energy security.
