Terra Power, a UK-based initiative, collaborates with partners in the UK, UAE, and Indonesia to optimise technology for efficient and safe biogas production using plants grown on contaminated land. With Loughborough University providing research expertise and lab facilities, Zest Associates contributing cleantech commercialization and project leadership, and Nexus3 offering access to test sites and local expertise, the project addresses energy poverty in contaminated areas. By supporting cost-effective, low-carbon energy production, it tackles the energy trilemma and aligns with Sustainable Development Goals 1, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13 & 15, while adhering to the UN Minamata Convention on Mercury.
