Blockchain Climate Policy Studies Limited
Blockchain-based off-grid energy trading system to enhance the sustainability of less affluent communities in Indonesia.
Stage: Round 8
Addressing the global energy access challenge, over 1.1 billion people lack power, including 125 million in Southeast Asia and 30 million in Indonesia. Blockchain Climate Policy Studies, Innovator 4.0 Indonesia Forum, and P.T. Energi Inovasi Desakota collaborate on an Energy Catalyst project. Focused on DLTs like blockchain, it aims to create a new energy market alongside solar-powered mini-grids. Deploying three systems in urban and rural Indonesia, the project explores ‘smart contract’ proofs-of-concept using AI/Machine Learning for electricity trading via a mobile app. The study assesses DLT impact on mini-grid operation, comparing it with traditional methods, aiming to empower Women’s Energy Cooperatives for sustainable community service delivery and development impact.
